Pedigree  Livestock

Here at McNeils Mill, you’ll find a number of perfectly formed pedigree animals. A small herd of British Blonde cattle have now been joined by an ever growing number of Beef Shorthorns. In the sheep department, we've opted for the Charollais.

Our exceptional health status, vaccination programme and focus on great temperament has seen high demand for our genetics over recent years, with repeat customers returning for males and females. Our small size allows us to spend a lot of time with the animals, making them very friendly and inquisitive. 

In our showing days we had many a show champion, with our greatest success coming at the Great Yorkshire Show when we were awarded breed champion with a home bred 18 month old heifer. Since hanging up the White Coats, we’ve also enjoyed success in regional Herd Competitions and thoroughly enjoy taking part and meeting fellow breeders at the awards dinners!

An all-round approach to best practice on a daily basis ensures the very best care for each and every animal. Our winter housing has two infrared cameras to monitor calving from every angle, night and day.

Annual Herd / Flock Health Tests and vaccinations as required are mandatory and any new arrivals quarantined and tested in accordance with the scheme rules.
